The blade is made of high-grade Tsukehagane (double-layer steel), so it cuts far better and lasts longer than all-steel blades. They are also easy to resharpen.
The joint between the blade and handle is fastened with high-grade chrome-finished metal fittings, which are also firmly hammered in, so there is no need to worry about the blade falling out or the handle cracking during use.
