Lucky cat "Maneki-neko" T-shirts
"Maneki-neko" - Lucky cat
During the Edo period, Ii Naotaka (1602 - 1659), the second lord of the Hikone domain, was sheltering from the rain under a tree in Gotokuji Temple then he found a cat beckoning to him. As Naotaka approached the cat, lightning struck the tree where he had just sheltered from the rain. In gratitude for avoiding the lightning, Naotaka made a large donation to Gotokuji Temple.
